Laser-cut and formed sheet metal components

Choosing a material

Sheet grade and thickness affect bend radius, corrosion protection and the finish you can achieve. Include the thickness and surface finish you need with your drawing.

Mild steel
Cost-effective and easy to form. Specify powder coating or plating if exposed to moisture.
Stainless 304
Good corrosion resistance without a coating. Suitable for food equipment and cleanable enclosures.
Aluminium
Lightweight and naturally corrosion resistant. Good for covers, chassis and portable products.

Illustrative material and finish examples; final appearance depends on process and specification.

From flat pattern to folded part

01

Send both views

A DXF flat pattern helps define cut edges, while a STEP model or folded drawing shows bend directions and the intended finished shape.

02

Check bend clearance

Hole positions close to bends, flange lengths and inside radii affect tooling access and distortion. Mark any dimensions that must be inspected after forming.

03

Specify the visible finish

Choose the sheet grade, thickness and coating. Identify cosmetic faces and whether deburring, inserts or assembly are needed before dispatch.
